Since 1998, World Kindness Day has been observed on November 13th as part of the World Kindness Movement. Pasco County Schools hosted a groundbreaking celebration for the Starkey Ranch K-8 School, which is expected to educate about 1,200 middle school students and 800 elementary students when it opens in the fall of 2021.
The event brings together community leaders to mark this important milestone including Pasco County School District, Pasco County elected officials and Wheelock Communities, developer of Starkey Ranch.
Groundbreaking alert! Starkey Ranch will soon be home to an innovative Pasco County kindergarten through 8th grade school right in the neighborhood. The new school, with gymnasium, playground, track, athletic fields and an exciting technical theater and library, will be located adjacent to Whitfield Park in a beautiful natural setting.

Coming soon, fall activities kick off at District Park
Fall’s coming and Starkey Ranch District Park will soon be jumping with all kinds of sports, practices and family events. It’s awesome having a new, open-to-the-public Pasco County District Park right in our community. For both playing and spectating, you can’t beat living where top leagues come to enjoy lighted fields, practice fields, a concession stand, plenty of comfort facilities and more.

At Starkey Ranch, our summer mini-summer camps are so awesome moms and dads are jealous. As Lifestyle Director, Alex Murphy puts it, “Our variety of mini summer camps adds a whole lot of ‘cool’ to summer fun at Starkey Ranch!” Each month features a special one-week, half-day mini-camp open to kids from kindergarten to fifth grade. All the activities are recreation based, different and surprising every day.

We are excited to report that Starkey Ranch Town Square will soon be a lively reality! Our spacious, new Publix is set to open in August 2019. By year’s end, dining spots and an array of great shops and services will have the Town Square front and center as a hub for community residents and the whole area.
Before Wheelock Communities developed Starkey Ranch in 2013, the
property had a long history of preservation. Originally purchased by
Jay B. Starkey and the Cunningham brothers in 1937, the 16,000-acre
CS Ranch, cut by the Pithlachascotee and Anclote rivers, hosted cattle
and timber and citrus operations.
