Jay B. Starkey, Jr., and his wife Marsha paid a visit to Starkey Ranch today with about 20 friends from St. Petersburg. Welcome Center manager Jane Branham greeted the group and gave them a community update. Jay B. took over cattle operations on the ranch from his father in 1965 and later ran an ecotourism venture here. Three generations of the Starkey family lived on and worked the ranch, and many family members continue to drop by to watch its transformation into a thriving community.
