Go Royal Knights! Purple is popular and school pride runs high among Starkey Ranch high school students. And why not? They are currently assigned to Five Star Awarded River Ridge High School. 

The Five Star School Award is a high honor given by the Florida Department of Education. It’s awarded annually only to schools that have met a rigorous criteria. River Ridge High School has proven to be a perfect blend of of volunteer, family, business & community involvement and educational advancements. A perfect campus for Starkey Ranch high school students to thrive!

As River Ridge Principal, Dr. Toni Zetzsche tells it, “I couldn’t be prouder to be Principal of this outstanding high school. The kids are so full of spirit. You’ll see the Purple Posse cheering at every kind of game and there is tremendous student involvement in national programs for community service. That’s pretty cool. During any event at River Ridge, it’s a packed house with parent, grandparent and community support.”

“River Ridge stands out for many reasons. Our career academies are a big part of that. Our Engineering Academy Robotics Team rates in the top 4% in the world. Our New Media & Communication Academy is run by an industry professional and our kids do all the promo work and social media for the school. Our Fine Arts & Music Entertainment Academy offers one of only two dance programs in the County, as well as art, drama and band. Our New Teacher Academy and Business Academy students are active with area elementary schools and local businesses.” 

There are also more than 20 clubs, 18 AP courses, JROTC and a full athletics programs. The goal is for a sense of positivity and belonging for everyone. There are so many paths to success in life that each student can grow as an individual and as a member of a caring community at River Ridge High.

Starkey Ranch is a proud sponsor of River Ridge High. Each year the community partners with River Ridge to host the Starkey Ranch Distance Classic in which proceeds are donated to the school.
