Moving on up—A hot trend at Starkey Ranch

The joy of a move-up home in Starkey Ranch? Not moving away!

Kristy and Matt Thurber, kids Madison and Chase, and labs Bronx and Blue, are delighted with their second Starkey Ranch home in just three years. “We wouldn’t live anywhere else,” says Kristy. “The nature and trails, our friends, so much to do, a great area, beautiful neighborhoods, top schools…staying here is a no brainer!”

Why the move-up home? “In 2016 we did a fast relocation from Jacksonville. We fell in love with Starkey Ranch—I’m in real estate and trust me there’s no place like it—and we found a terrific move-in-ready home. But we did want to build something larger and single story.” In the new Albritton Park neighborhood, Kristy spotted the “perfect big corner lot with water and nature views.”  The family knew they had to move quickly. After all, Starkey Ranch is the top selling master-planned community in the Tampa Bay area. “Lots of Starkey Ranch families are moving up like us. Who’d ever want to move away?,” laughs Kristy.

Wilma Orozco and her husband Nestor Jimenez are so happy with the home they bought in Starkey Ranch, they’re moving to another by the same builder! Along with Yoda, their two-year old cocker spaniel mix, the couple chose Starkey Ranch because as Wilma says, “It didn’t feel big or crowded, it’s so well-planned. The variety of home plans are the best. We really love being out on the trails, having the Nature Preserve and seeing all the wildlife. It’s convenient to Tampa and the Gulf but still has that wilderness feel.”

The couple considers their new home, being built in Anclote Preserve, to be a great investment. “We will be moving in in November. The water and nature views are beautiful. And we are building in the more Mediterranean style we wanted and couldn’t find anywhere else.”  The lifestyle works too. Wilma likes having Zumba and yoga classes right at Cunningham Park. “We did our research. Starkey Ranch just does things right.”
