If you thought our 2016 Touch-a-Truck event was big fun, you're going to love the 2017 version even more. On Saturday, November 4th, we're opening the 90-acre Starkey Ranch District Park with this family friendly roundup of more than 100 vehicles. Kids (and parents, too) can get up close and personal with trucks, buses, tractors, fire engines, construction equipment and more.
On April 29, Starkey Ranch was host to nearly 500 participants in the 2017 Distance Classic, a combination of our 5K and 10K races that took runners through the beautiful trails of the community. Beginning at the nearly completed Starkey Ranch District Park, the run featured views from many of the community’s 20-miles of trails, of which nearly 7 miles are completed.

Our talent scouts tapped several Starkey Ranch residents for cameo roles in our first-ever TV commercial, now airing on Good Morning Tampa Bay, and select cable networks including HGTV. Life really has taken root in our community, with more than 150 families already living here and an average of four more moving in each week. We’re proud to show our success to viewers throughout the Tampa Bay area.
All three public schools to which Starkey Ranch students are assigned for the 2017-18 school year have earned Five-Star Schools status, as announced by the Florida Department of Education in January. Odessa Elementary School, River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School each earned the distinction which recognizes exemplary levels of family and community involvement in the schools. River Ridge is the only middle school in Pasco County on this year’s list.
December 9th was a magical evening at Starkey Ranch as we threw our first Ho-Ho Hoedown for about 1,500 guests. Santa arrived by golf cart and was joined by The Grinch, Anna and Elsa, and a very tall and lovely elf.
On Friday, November 5th, more than 7,000 kids of all ages descended on Starkey Ranch to take part in our first Touch-a-Truck event. The big attraction was the chance to sit in, play with, and learn about the more than 90 vehicles that ran the gamut from construction trucks and school buses to police cars and golf carts.
Pulte Homes has begun pre-construction sales of homes in our newest neighborhood village, Homestead Park. Pulte is offering three series of homes with a total of 15 plans available. Prices start in the upper $200s and homes range from 1,980 to more than 4,200 square feet.

M/I Homes will build an enclave of 61 luxury townhomes in the Whitfield Park neighborhood, ranging from 1,691 to 1,851 square feet. Home sales will begin in September and models will be ready by late fall.
The Florida Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) will award its highest possible distinction, the 2016 Award of Excellence, to Starkey Ranch and its landscape architecture firm Dix.Hite+Partners.
