On more than 2,400 acres just north of Tampa, a new kind of community is growing quickly. Adjacent to the Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Preserve, Starkey Ranch keeps residents surrounded by nature, but close to good restaurants, grocery and drug stores, medical providers and schools.
Neighborhoods are centered on parks and connected by trails where neighbors meet and have fun together. Five miles of trails, two dog parks, a playground, picnic pavilions, and a big open lawn are ready now.
Our first community pool and splash pad are now open in Whitfield Park, and the first baseball and multi-sport fields in the 90-acre District Park are nearing completion. In the works are plans for a K-8 public school, a shared-use gymnasium and tennis courts, a public library and community theater. And of course, lots more neighborhoods and amenities.

Our talent scouts tapped several Starkey Ranch residents for cameo roles in our first-ever TV commercial, now airing on Good Morning Tampa Bay, and select cable networks including HGTV. Life really has taken root in our community, with more than 150 families already living here and an average of four more moving in each week. We’re proud to show our success to viewers throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Five-Star School Pride

All three public schools to which Starkey Ranch students are assigned for the 2017-18 school year have earned Five-Star Schools status, as announced by the Florida Department of Education in January. Odessa Elementary School, River Ridge Middle School and River Ridge High School each earned the distinction which recognizes exemplary levels of family and community involvement in the schools. River Ridge is the only middle school in Pasco County on this year’s list.
